I was doing my QT yesterday morning and at the last part of Leviticus, it talks about blessings for obedience to God and curses for disobedience to God. God is just. God is holy, so He wants us to be holy too. We can live a holy life by setting our lives apart for Him. We can choose to obey Him and live by His standard. We may be imperfect, but because Jesus had came to die and resurrected, everything’s changed. We can now live by grace, and not by work.

Therefore, be holy, as your God is holy.

Today, I woke up and my QT was on the first chapter of Numbers. Interesting… It’s a book on preparation to enter the Promised Land. About the 10 and 2 spies. About Moses striking the rock. About Balaam. About Balak. About obedience and faith all over again.

God longs to bless us. However, because God is holy and just, He must deal with sin severely too.

Numbers is named Numbers because of the 2 census Moses made to the Israelites in counting the cost of fighting and entering Canaan. I learnt about counting the cost and obedience. This reminds me of how Jesus talks about the cost of being His disciples in the book of Luke.

Lord… You are my refuge, my God in whom I trust.
